On 27 November, 2023, we had the honour to have invited children’s book author and illustrator Guilherme Karsten to visit our campus for a captivating storytelling sharing.
Known for his modern and creative tales, Karsten’s works honour the themes and spirits of family, music, and cultural diversity. His internationally recognised publications have ignited curiosity and exploration in young readers worldwide. His books, published in over 15 languages, have won international accolades like the Serpa International Picture Book Award, the Golden Windmill International Illustration Award, and the Brazilian Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children and Youth’s ‘Best Children’s Book’ award.
During the session, our early year students not only confidently engaged with Guilherme Karsten in English; but also asked him lots of questions under the guidance and encouragement of our teachers. Karsten was amazed by the creative drawings and happily received the heart-felt thank you card drawn by our students. We are proud and delighted to witness students developing a passion for discovery in their hearts.
