Co-Curricular Activities

Children benefit socially, cognitively and psychologically from appropriate experiences in specialised learning; whether this is through sport, art, music or drama. The opportunity to refine and hone a skill is emotionally rewarding and establishes self-discipline, perseverance and sense of achievement.

The School offers a range of opportunities for children to participate and extend their life experience while learning a skill. These activities are led by skilled experts who possess the professional competence to work effectively with your child, teaching them the necessary techniques and providing supportive guidance to help them develop their talent to the fullest potential.

Our extensive Co-Curricular Activities Programmes are not ‘extra’ as they are an expectation as we believe vital learning takes place outside of the classroom. These programmes broaden horizons, instil a sense of adventure, and foster leadership attributes. Academic learning is therefore supported by an extensive range of activities, societies, and events.

Sports have always been an important element in Harrow’s holistic education. Our sports programme ensures all students participate in sports, clubs and house activities. Many students will specialise in one or more sports, which is supported and closely coached by experts in the corresponding fields. By playing competitively and representing the house or school in sporting events, students get to develop their interests and hone their lifelong skillset.

Participating in co-curricular activities challenges students to step outside their comfort zones, such as performing in front of crowds or taking parts in a debate. Our AISL Talents Programme is vital to developing the Harrow core values of honour, fellowship, courage and humility. Through different forms of creative arts (music, drama and visual art), students build self-confidence and grow as individuals. For example, the AISL Music Festival, a signature event of the AISL Talents programme,- aims to foster young people through engagement with high-quality music and provide learning opportunities for young musicians.
