Our Senior Leadership Team
Dr Chan was the Principal of Sheng Kung Hui Bishop Mok Sau Tseng Secondary School (1993-2004), Principal of St. Paul’s Co-educational College and the Supervisor of St. Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School (2004-2017), and has been the Supervisor of Sheng Kung Hui Kindergarten since 2004.
Dr Chan is currently Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR), Honorary Fellow of The Education University of Hong Kong, Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong Principals’ Institute (2012-2018), Former Chairman of the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council (2002-2004), Former Council Members of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Education University of Hong Kong, Former Member of the Independent Police Complaints Council and Non-Official Member of the Correctional Services Department Complaints Appeal Board.
In November 2017, Dr Chan was appointed by the HKSAR Government to chair the Task Force on Review of School Curriculum to provide directional recommendations on some pivotal areas, namely catering for students’ diversity, whole-person development, articulation of learning at the primary and secondary levels, and enhancement of students’ capacity to meet with future challenges, and values education. Major recommendations of the Task Force’s Report are now being implemented in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
Dr. Chan received her Bachelor Degree (First Class Honours) and Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 1980 and 1982 respectively from the University of Hong Kong, Master Degree in Education in 1985 from the Institute of Education, London University and Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Education in 1993 from Monash University, Australia.
Dr. Chan was awarded Sir Robert Trust Fund Scholarship for her Master study in the UK, Australian Postgraduate Research Award and Peter Fensham Scholarship on her PhD study in Australia, and Distinguished Alumni Award from the Science Faculty of the University of Hong Kong.
Having read Classics at Pembroke College, Cambridge, Mr McGregor spent more than thirty years teaching at Harrow School in the UK. He was House Master of Gayton and then The Head Master’s Houses before his appointment to the Senior Management Team in 2012. As Senior Tutor, he oversaw areas of compliance, including Safeguarding, Health & Safety, as well as Pupil Welfare in the broad. Since his retirement from Harrow at the end of August 2018, Mr McGregor has acted as an educational consultant. He is also on the Board of several leading preparatory schools across the UK. Mr McGregor was appointed by Harrow International Schools Limited (HISL) to be a member of the Oversight Team of AISL Schools in May 2021. As a representative of the Harrow Governors, Mr McGregor serves on the Boards of the Harrow International Schools in Appi, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Shenzhen. He is also a Governor of the Harrow Lide Schools in Chongqing, Nanning, and Zhuhai as well as the Harrow Hong Kong Children School in Shenzhen.
Lesley Tyler has 35 years’ experience in education that comprises teaching, senior management in high achieving UK schools and school inspection.
An Oxford University graduate in English Language and Literature, Lesley has taught English and Drama to A Level and University entrance level in state and independent schools in the UK, specialising from 1999 in the education of able girls at Tonbridge Grammar and Benenden. She has taught both IB and A Level. She was Assistant Head and an Advanced Skills Teacher at Tonbridge Grammar, with responsibility for curriculum, staff development and gifted and talented education. In 2009 she became Deputy Head Academic at Benenden, a girls’ boarding school. She has also been a consultant for the UK government on education of able students, an Advanced Skills Teacher, a Lead Practitioner with the Specialists Schools and Academies Trust, and on the professional development committees of the Headmasters Conference (HMC) and Girls’ Schools Association (GSA). She regularly delivers training at national conferences, and has been a tutor for several organisations that train teachers. Recently she has been on the three strong team of Benenden International Ltd, and has advised on the curriculum for Benenden Bilingual School Guangzhou.
Since 2016, she has worked for the Independent Schools Inspectorate where she is now a Reporting Inspector. She is a member of the HEOV team for Harrow International Schools Limited.
Associate Director of Education in AISL
Before joining AISL, Linda was the Founding Head of a private school, a leader of a professional exchange delegation from the Mainland, a national education expert, a renowned Chinese teacher and the host of the “Distinguished Teacher Workshop”.
With over 30 years of experience in education, teaching and school management, Linda is dedicated to the research and practice of holistic education, with a firm belief that every child will have their moments to shine. Linda closely aligns her work with both educational philosophy and practice, integrating the latest international educational concepts with the unique characteristics of Chinese education. Linda aims to guide students towards leadership roles that encompass a global perspective and adaptability, while possessing a deep appreciation for traditional Chinese culture and understanding of the country state.
Dr Ahmed Hussain is the Chief Education Officer with AISL. This position involves leading on educational strategy and operations across the Harrow group of schools in Asia. He is also an Associate Professor in the school of education Durham University, a member of the editorial board with Research Journal: International Education Theory and Practice, a member of the expert panel for Pudong Education Bureau, Shanghai and a Fellow of the Charter College for Teaching, UK.
Professional and research experience
Following an initial career as a post-doctoral research scientist and lecturer at University of Nottingham, Ahmed trained as teacher of science with the school of education, Durham University. Following a number of teaching and leadership positions, Ahmed was appointed as a Lecturer of Education at Durham University. Here he led on training and developing teachers, teaching on Masters and EdD courses as well as undertaking research in the fields of curriculum analysis, assessment and teacher professional development. Ahmed took up a number of senior leadership positions in schools in the UK and Dubai along with working in the education reform project in Abu Dhabi. Here he led projects on senior leader and teacher professional development along with supporting the development and rollout of national standards for school leaders and teachers in the UAE. Ahmed then took up the role of Director of Schools with Wellington College China, playing a key role in establishing Wellington College China as a leading education group regionally and internationally.
Contribution to education in China
Through a number of partnerships with state education in Shanghai, Hangzhou and at national level, the Ahmed has contributed to education reform through:

Examples of impact include developing the capacity of teachers in Shanghai to implement formative assessment practices. Research in this field has demonstrated that the use of formative assessment practices not only improved student achievement in paper and pencil tests but is also associated with higher levels of motivation and self-efficacy.

Ahmed is a passionate educator who was drawn to AISL because of the educational values, ethos and commitment to a truly holistic education. He is married with two boys, and as a family they are truly embracing the rich heritage and culture of Hong Kong SAR and China.
Ms Ho completed a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University of Hong Kong in November 1986, and a master’s degree in data processing from the University of Ulster (UK) in July 1992. With more than 30 years of experience in accounting, finance and banking in China, she is an expert in managing finance and accounting business, financing, investor relations and corporate strategy implementation. Ms Ho is a certified public accountant of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Ms Ho joined Harrow International Management Services Limited. in September 2006 as Chief Financial Officer. Currently Ms Ho is responsible for the operation and business development of Asia International School Limited (AISL) Harrow Schools in Asia.
Mr Leung Wing Cheong Eric, aged 64, is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia International School Limited (“AISL”) responsible for its general business operations. AISL owns and operates a series of Harrow International and Harrow-branded schools and kindergartens in Asia. He is currently a governor of Harrow International School Bangkok, Harrow International School Beijing, Harrow International School Hong Kong, Harrow International School Shanghai, Harrow International School Shenzhen Qinghai, Harrow International School Appi Japan and Shenzhen Qianhai Harrow Hong Kong Children School. Before joining AISL, Mr Leung had held senior management positions with companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as well as with a number of international investment banks. He is a lawyer by training, and is qualified to practise law in Hong Kong, England & Wales and Australia. Mr Leung holds bachelor degrees from the University of Hong Kong and University of London, and a master degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr John Tan has over 30 years of experience in leading quality education in Hong Kong. He has held headmaster positions in several schools in Hong Kong including traditional elite schools such as Wah Yan College Kowloon and Pun U Association Wah Yan Primary School. Dr Tan joined the Hong Kong Education Bureau (HKEDB) in the late 2000s as Chief Curriculum Development Officer. He has been the Honorary Associate Professor of the Faculty of Education in the University of Hong Kong and has sat in the Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority’s Advisory Committee on Public Examinations (including HKDSE) and HKEDB’s Advisory Committee on Gifted Education. Dr Tan has much experience in leading teachers to develop school-based curricula that cater for differential needs of gifted students and those with special educational needs alike.
Mr Calvin Kwan held more than 20 years of managerial roles in academic and pastoral care and taught students with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. He used to work for the Education Bureau, promoting curriculum development and involving different sectors of the community in developing quality learning and teaching resources. He also organised various training programmes for front-line teachers.
Ms Dana Iu earned her postgraduate degree in early childhood education from the University of Hong Kong, where she also pursued her Master of Education in Education Leadership.
Ms Iu has been in the field of early childhood education for almost 20 years. In the span of her career as an educator, she has been a homeroom teacher, music teacher, physical education teacher, teacher trainer, workshop facilitator, PYP coordinator and kindergarten vice principal.
She has extensive knowledge and experience of different curricula, which include the Hong Kong Kindergarten Curriculum, Early Years Foundation Stage, IBPYP and the Chinese National Curriculum.
Prior to joining Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai, Nigel Schofield joined Harrow Shenzhen as Head of Upper School in April 2021 with multifaceted experience in leading and managing staff. Nigel firmly believes that the greatest asset of any school is its students, supported by passionate, scholarly staff, and brings to Harrow his expertise in delivering a collaborative, rich and holistic learning experience.
Having taught on 3 continents, he has held leadership positions in schools for over 20 years, internationally since 2011 within senior leadership. Nigel holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, and a PGCE in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham. He completed the UK National Professional Qualification for Headship in 2008 and his Masters degree in Education Leadership in 2015.
